Today Mummy told me I have a Blog. Good! More toys to be washed! All my clothes and toys have to be washed before I can play with them. I push things out of my cot and then they come back clean.
Mummy said Uncle Phil had put my blog on a machine which people can read. Will it come back clean? Mummy told me Auntie Katie will put my words in to this machine, I hope they don't shrink!
Today I am in a big building with lots of nice people who keep talking and touching me. Mummy says these are nurses, I think I love my nurses. If I smile they come and talk to me, wait until mummy has shown me to blow kisses.
When I was born Mummy and Daddy forgot to give me a gene? This would have stopped me from getting a sore bum, mouth and eyes (Auntie Katie will tell you about this ( Auntie Katie - Logan has inherited a faulty gene, which prevents his own immmune system developing. Until now his body has been able to fight off diseases and germs as it had some of his mum's immune system in him from when he was born. Now this has gone and anything he get such as nappy rash, thrush in his mouth and conjunctivitus, which are all common in babies he cannot fight off) I don't want Gene in this cot with me, Mummy and Daddy look after me good. My Mouth and bum was sore, glad mummy remembered the right cream to put on
I did not like my milk and started to get hungry, Mummy and Daddy and me had to go and see a man who pushed a sharp bit in me and got some red stuff out. Mummy was told we had to go in a van with two men on a drive through the green fields to this building we are in with my lovely nurses.
Mummy and Daddy have told me I have to stay under my machine all the time (Auntie Katie will explain ( Auntie Katie - As Logan has no immune system, therefore no way of fighting off germs he is being kept in a sterile room. He has what looks like a big extractor fan over his area, this ensures the air he is in is sterile.))Mummy has said lots of people will visit me but they will have to stay behind the gate, its like being in a zoo (I don't know what a zoo is, but I have animals in my cot) Mummy said these people might have germs on them I hope these are toys.
Mummy, Daddy and Grandad are the only ones to come into my space, they MUST have clean clothes on and wash before touching me. They wear silly hats and aprons on which I try to get off.
I had to go in a van and go to sleep, when I woke up they had put some toys on my chest. These toys are for putting medicine in me and for taking red stuff out. My lovely nurses come and play with these, mummy and me counted three tubes.
Mummy and Daddy have told me I will lose my hair. This will stop Mummy using the machine that eats Daddys hair on me. Chemo will make me grumpy and poorly but mummy and daddy will be there, and my lovely nurses, after this I will get some more bone marrow (Auntie Katie will tell you, she is getting good at this( Auntie Katie - Logan is currently recieving steroids and antibiotics to get rid of any outstanding infections he has in his body. Once he is clear of infections he will begin a eight day course of Chemotheraphy this will destroy any existing bone marrow he has. He will then recieve a Bone Marrow transplant.))
I will be here for 4 to 5 months and miss my christmas but Mummy and Daddy have said that my birthday will be twice as good with two lots of toys and a party to see all my friends again. I will tell Auntie Katie what is happening to me so she can update my blog?
I hope you will all leave messages for my Mummy and Daddy to read to me.
Hugs and Kisses
Logan

Auntie Katie - Sorry for the delay in this update, been a busy few weeks with Christmas and Logans improvements
Sunday 13th January
Daddy took us out for a ride in the car I stayed awake all the time watching through the window. Still having milk through my tube. Mummy keeps giving me food, sometimes on a spoon and sometimes pieces of things. I play with it and throw it on the floor. She said I was a naughty boy! ME! Naughty! no no no. Why spend playing time eating when you can get it through a tube and read a book at the same time!

Friday 11th January
Mummy took me out of my buggy and gave me a go on a swing. Not sure! And a slide, Liked that! Did 20 laps of the coffee table, don’t sit down much now. Like to play banging things on table, when I have emptied them out of my toy box to choose which one to bang. Like noise.

Wednesday 9th January
Mummy still pushes me to hospital if it isn’t raining. Sometimes a bit of rain comes and I try to catch it but my cover stops me. Nurses at the hospital are very pleased with me. Still see my lovely nurses but different ones give me medicine now. I am getting my tummy toy taken out next week.

Saturday 5th January
Granny and Grandad came. Took me out in my buggy to feed ducks. Never seen real ducks before. Thousands of birds called seagulls kept putting their heads into the water to get the bread granddad threw. Some big things granny called geese followed my buggy when we walked away from the pond. I have to stay under my cover but it’s see through.

Friday 4th January
Just me and Mummy in this flat. Very quiet, no one comes in. Went to hospital in taxi. My clever mum gives me medicine and feeds me through my tube. Daddy coming soon.

Thursday 3rd January
Bye Bye all my lovely nurses. Who will throw you kisses and dance for you tomorrow. You’re going to miss me. I’ll miss you too. Got to love you all, even though you have done some horrid things to me, you’ve made me better. Thank you! XXXX

Wednesday 2nd January
Sad because daddy gone back. Granny & Grandad came and took me a ride in their grey truck to my half way house. I fell asleep. I sat on the floor and played with some on my new toys. Mummy has taken them there. My last sleep in hospital.

Tuesday 1st January
Everyone says “Happy New Year” don’t know why. Think it has something to do with me going to half way house on Thursday or Friday. Mummy & Daddy took me out in my buggy. I have a special cover over it and can only go to quiet places.

Monday 31st December
Daddy has keys to half way house. It’s a flat where we will live for a few weeks when I get out of hospital. It’s very near to hospital because I have to come back every day to start with and Mummy can bring me back quickly if I’m poorly. But I’m a good lad and won’t be.

Sunday 30th December
Doctor’s told Mummy & Daddy that I may be able to go to half way house in next few weeks. Half way to where?

Friday 28th December
Having a lovely time with mummy and daddy to play all day with my new toys. Feel lots and lots better. Mummy wears that sparkly ring on a chain round her neck for me to play with.

Wednesday 26th December
Granny, Grandad and Auntie Katie came today and brought more parcels. AT LAST I am allowed to play with some of the toys. They were ALL for my. Daddy even let me play with Thomas the Tank Engine. I know how to stop him going round and round the track. Daddy bought mummy a sparkly ring.

Tuesday 25th December
Mummy and Daddy came really early with lots of parcels in coloured paper. They sat me on the floor in the middle of them and showed me how to look at the label then pull the paper off. Struggle a bit to read the labels, fed up taking paper off. All the parcels have toys inside but they keep taking them away! Are they not for me? Why can’t I play with them?

Monday 24th December
Mummy put me to bed in my Christmas sleep suit Auntie Katie bought. We hung that key from Toni and George on the door for that Santa man to come in. Will he do my medicines tonight so nurses can have a night off. Hope he’s as quiet as them, I never really notice they come.

Friday 21st December
Daddy here today for a long time. He doesn’t have to go to work because of this Christmas thing. Don’t really know what it is, but a man called Santa in a red suit is on TV all the time and mummy keeps reading me books about him and some about a baby and his mummy & daddy in a stable. Everyone comes to see him but nobody touches him, just like me.

Thursday 20th December
Granny came today with a man I didn’t know. I watched him all the time. Mummy said he was her granddad, my great granddad. He stayed a while and I got used to him and showed him my walking.

Tuesday 18th December
Grandad Mike came; don’t see him often so not too sure. He brought me some keys!!! Just what I wanted. Used to have some that Max gave me but they stopped making music just after I came to hospital. These are much better they have more buttons and more tunes.
