Logan James Wilkieson

Today Mummy told me I have a Blog. Good! More toys to be washed! All my clothes and toys have to be washed before I can play with them. I push things out of my cot and then they come back clean.
Mummy said Uncle Phil had put my blog on a machine which people can read. Will it come back clean? Mummy told me Auntie Katie will put my words in to this machine, I hope they don't shrink!
Today I am in a big building with lots of nice people who keep talking and touching me. Mummy says these are nurses, I think I love my nurses. If I smile they come and talk to me, wait until mummy has shown me to blow kisses.
When I was born Mummy and Daddy forgot to give me a gene? This would have stopped me from getting a sore bum, mouth and eyes (Auntie Katie will tell you about this ( Auntie Katie - Logan has inherited a faulty gene, which prevents his own immmune system developing. Until now his body has been able to fight off diseases and germs as it had some of his mum's immune system in him from when he was born. Now this has gone and anything he get such as nappy rash, thrush in his mouth and conjunctivitus, which are all common in babies he cannot fight off) I don't want Gene in this cot with me, Mummy and Daddy look after me good. My Mouth and bum was sore, glad mummy remembered the right cream to put on
I did not like my milk and started to get hungry, Mummy and Daddy and me had to go and see a man who pushed a sharp bit in me and got some red stuff out. Mummy was told we had to go in a van with two men on a drive through the green fields to this building we are in with my lovely nurses.
Mummy and Daddy have told me I have to stay under my machine all the time (Auntie Katie will explain ( Auntie Katie - As Logan has no immune system, therefore no way of fighting off germs he is being kept in a sterile room. He has what looks like a big extractor fan over his area, this ensures the air he is in is sterile.))Mummy has said lots of people will visit me but they will have to stay behind the gate, its like being in a zoo (I don't know what a zoo is, but I have animals in my cot) Mummy said these people might have germs on them I hope these are toys.
Mummy, Daddy and Grandad are the only ones to come into my space, they MUST have clean clothes on and wash before touching me. They wear silly hats and aprons on which I try to get off.
I had to go in a van and go to sleep, when I woke up they had put some toys on my chest. These toys are for putting medicine in me and for taking red stuff out. My lovely nurses come and play with these, mummy and me counted three tubes.
Mummy and Daddy have told me I will lose my hair. This will stop Mummy using the machine that eats Daddys hair on me. Chemo will make me grumpy and poorly but mummy and daddy will be there, and my lovely nurses, after this I will get some more bone marrow (Auntie Katie will tell you, she is getting good at this( Auntie Katie - Logan is currently recieving steroids and antibiotics to get rid of any outstanding infections he has in his body. Once he is clear of infections he will begin a eight day course of Chemotheraphy this will destroy any existing bone marrow he has. He will then recieve a Bone Marrow transplant.))
I will be here for 4 to 5 months and miss my christmas but Mummy and Daddy have said that my birthday will be twice as good with two lots of toys and a party to see all my friends again. I will tell Auntie Katie what is happening to me so she can update my blog?
I hope you will all leave messages for my Mummy and Daddy to read to me.

Wednesday 21st November
Very, very tired, just want to sleep. Eating some of my food but it takes all my bounce! Grandad here again. Had lots and lots of cuddles from Mummy and Grandad.
LoganNo2 went somewhere to sleepy to listen, but lots of people around!

Tuesday 20th November
Feeling tired today. No energy to stand up and bounce. Grandad has come to help Mummy. Had nice cuddles with him to make me feel better. He played with my toys with me, I don't get as tired when Grandad helps me play. He does good playing! Tried getting pudding only again at tea time, but doesn't work with Grandad, so had to eat dinner first then pudding!
Getting more red stuff out of a bag tomorrow! The nurses say this will give me my bounce back!

Monday 19th November
Day of medicine today! Was sick quite a few times. Barney (Grandad's dog) was sick too. He had a bone from the butcher. Bone Marrow must make sickness! Doesn't bother me tho it just comes and I carry on playing while Mummy cleans it up. Tried not eating my roast chicken dinner to see what Mummy did: shook my head and told her NO! She still gave me pudding!!! Pudding's nicer than dinner! She said this is only because I am in hospital, when I'm home no pudding if I don't eat my dinner first. Telling LoganNo2 all my tricks to try when he is bigger!
Still had to have some milk poured in but I can help now, I twist the tube. Mummy can do my milk now, the nurses have shown her.
I have learned to press the button for music on my key toys. Did it for a whole hour! LoganNo2 kept saying 'Again, again'

Sunday 18th November
Started eating properly again now. I have four teeth!! Be able to bite soon! Because I'm having food my tummy is full and I didn't drink enough milk so the nurses put a tube up my nose and poured my milk into me like they do with LoganNo2. I wasn't scared because LoganNo2 has it like that and he says it is OK! Was a good boy and didn't play with my tube!

Saturday 17th November
I'm a star, SUPER STAR! Hope you all saw me last night. Can't write so autographs will have to be hand prints (do them when I'm painting)
On again this morning with Mummy. We might get more TV offers now! I want to be on 'Strictly'. I can do the bouncy dances, not up to moving around the floor yet, but wait till I can walk!
Expect Mummy will do the Pantene hair adverts!
If you want to see me Auntie Katie is going to put them on my links! I'm with the Spice Girls (they're some stick thin women who used to sing, and one of them is married to a footballer!), Take That and our BUBBLE FOUNDATION story about Phil and Adam.

Thurday 15th November
Granny came today and brought Great Grandad. His firstst 2 boys died with what I have (SCIDS). No one knew about it then. It was a very long time ago, even Granny wasn't here then.
It was only found (SCIDS) 20 years ago, good job Auntie Katie wasn't a boy.
Mummy says I can watch my box tomorrow as it about Children In Need. Daddy said it is about children who arn't as lucky as me. I got lots of friends, lovely nurses and clever Doctors and I am getting the best treatment. Logan No2 might be going home next week! I wonder if I'll get a new friend! I'll miss my talks with Logan No2!

Wednesday 14th November
Grandad back today. He could not give me my tea as I am not eating food, Mummy said it is because I am getting my front tooth I can bite then. I didn't enjoy bathing. Getting tired easily.

Tuesday 13th November
I learnt to clap my hands today and pull myself up on the bar in my cot. I keep falling when I clap and stand. Mummy sayd I am learning so I can escape.
Feeling tired.

Monday 12th November
Daddy is here this week. Tummy toys fixed today, Daddy came with me in the white van, he sat in the front, like a big kid Mummy said. He wasn't allowed to do the dur dur & lights.
Started my make better medicine today (chemo)

Sunday 11th November
Grandma came today. Showed her my new trick, dancing! Daddy bathed me, but Grandma couldn't see my tummy toy so I took the glove of it - Twice !!

Friday 9th November
Bad day today! I went hungry all day, went for a ride in the van and sat about very bored. I normally have a big sleeps but I didn't today! Mummy says it is because the surgeon men were very busy and didn't have time to sort my tummy toys out. Not a happy boy now, because I will have to go hungry again on Monday to try and get my toys mended! This means my chemo wont start till Tuesday. Daddys back tomorrow, I want to show Daddy my dancing.

Saturday 10th November
Daddy back, played all day, showed him how to dance! We did lots of laughing! Mummy has gone to see Auntie Kimmy and Uncle Jonny, Mummy said I have to be good for Daddy. I am always good!! I let him play with my ducks when we had a bath! Watched the dancing on the box, Daddy said it is girly! I don't think it is, will ask Logan No2 later.
Daddy said Grandma is coming to see me tomorrow, I hope she brings Auntie Amy, I can show them how I stand up and how I dance!

Friday 2nd November
Grandad and Nanny Wilkieson came today, they told me I can go and stay with them ( I got two tractors to play with now! Both my Grandad's have one) Doctor Steven has told me my tummy toy is not working again. Not me this time. Doctor Steven says it was the silly Doctor who made me sleep

Saturday 3rd November
Playing with Mummy and Daddy all day. Watched the nice colours on the box! Mummy says it is Strictly Come Dancing. Daddy said dancing is for girls! I like the pretty colours

Sunday 4th November
Mummy and Daddy have gone to Granny and Grandads today for dinner, Aunti Chris and her two boys are there playing with MY tractor (Grandads really) My lovely nurse had to give me dinner. I have three teeth now!

Monday 5th November
Bad day today, I have to go hungry again, ALL day so they silly doctors can get my toys working again. Late when I got back Logan No2 asleep

Tuesday 6th November
Doctor Steven has told me I can start my chemo in six sleeps. My blog might not be as good next week as Auntie Katie might have to do it for me

Wednesday 7th November
Busy day! Man taking my photo and a lady asking lots of questions about me and THE BUBBLE FOUNDATION. they were from the Bolton Evening News. I am becoming a celeb being in the paper twice!
Look out on Friday or Saturday for my bit in the paper. Grandad back again to help. I am tired today but had a good bath with my ducks

Thursday 8th November
Doctor Steven has said my tummy toy is not working again, hungry day on friday again. Mummy asked if this will delay my chemo. It has to start on Monday for eight sleeps because they have my bone marrow. They have to get it ready for me in 11 sleeps. Daddy is stopping with me next week because I might be grumpy!

Saturday 27th October
Daddys back today. He had to work late yesterday. Happy day. Logan No2 is awake more. He's only a baby (Auntie Katie - LoganNo2 was born with Skid's and has never been outside, he is in the same room as Logan lives under the same conditions. Logan No2 is further along with his treatment as he has already recieved his bone marrow transplant)

Sunday 28th October
Grandad, Granny and Auntie Katie came today. Grandad helped today. He's getting better at looking after me. I can still get him to do things for me. Fooled again! They all went out for dinner and left me with Katie, a learner nurse, she's very nice

Monday 29th October
Good day today! My toys in my tummy do not need playing with because I am getting better. Now mummy squirts bannana medicine into my mouth. If I dont put my tongue out!

Tuesday 30th October
I am a star today! Mummy told me I had my picture and story in the Bolton Evening News. My nurses will love me more, I can get star treatment! (More milk!!) Mummy and Daddy tell me I am a star all the time. Auntie Katie says I have loads of messages on my blog ( Still don't know what a blog is) Mummy read them all to me. They are all my friends I love them all and miss seeing them. When I am better I will promise to kiss everybody. More kisses for my girlfriends. I miss kisses! (Auntie Katie - Logan can't recieved contact such as kisses from anyone even his mum and dad as is would pose a high risk of transfering germs)

Wednesday 31st October
Grandad back to help me! We had a bath, me and my ducks. Got Mummy and Grandad wet too. Mummy said I might be on TV. Mummy and Grandad said I would be like Bob The Builder on the box in the corner
I don't want to live in a box and be pushed in the slot at the bottom. Mummy said it would help THE BUBBLE FOUNDATION if I will be on the box. I will take advise of Logan No2 in his bubble next to me. I try to throw my toys at him to share, can't reach yet. We have a talk when no one is in our room.
Grandad and Nanna Wilkieson are comming on Friday to see me.

Thursday 1st November
Granny came today, Doctor Stephen told Mummy they have a match for my bone marrow, four baby tubes will be tested, one will be chosen and made ready for me (See link) It might be in 14 sleeps. Mummy, Daddy, Doctors and Nurses all talk they think I don't understand but I am listening. TV cameras and paper are coming next week to interview me (The star!!) Mummy and Daddy might say something. THE BUBBLE FOUNDATION are coming to help. Mummy says I have to keep saying THE BUBBLE FOUNDATION because they are the charity who support me and provide all my things. Thank You I love them all.

Friday 26th October
I was out very late last night at the other place, Mummy said it 2am when I got home and in bed! Is that late? It made me sleep lots, I missed my breakfast!
I can sit up on my own now, but laughing makes me fall over. Jane has been my nurse today, she is super, she like it when I wrinkle my nose!
My toy is back on my tummy now though, but I am not allowed to play with it.

Saturday 20th October
Mummy has gone home to see Auntie Kim and to tidy our house. Daddy is looking after me, he said Nanna and Auntie Amy can't come and see me because they have snotty noses. I had one of them! Should I send them some of my medicine to make them better!
Daddy pressed a button, it was magic it made ALL the doctors and nurses come and see me! As they struggled getting into their clothes they told him it was for emergencies.

Sunday 21st October
Sarah is my nurse today I like her lots, she plays silly games and pulls daft faces with me.Granny, Grandad and Auntie Katie came to see me, Granny was being silly and making me laugh. I showed Grandad all my new tricks. How to hit my ball and make it flash, Shrek dosn't flash when I hit him!! He laughs lots when I steal things through the rails of my cot. I climbed up him and made myself sooo tall!! Granny brought me some bananas, I like bananas. Mummy says its because I am a little monkey
Mummy came back in time to give me my chips for tea, then we said bye bye to daddy when he went back to work.

Monday 22nd October
Mummy gave me bananas for my breakfast, I grabbed it before she mashed it up and ate it all like a big boy

Tuesday 23rd October
Granny came to see me today! She watched me playing with my toys. She took my Mummy away, but she brought her back later
My nursery nurse Amanda came to play with me, we did painting! It was good, all messy!! Granny said I won't be able to do that at her house! Auntie Katie and Mummy weren't allowed!

Wednesday 24th October
I threw my banana on the floor today, mummy said this is naughty! I played with my toys in my tummy and they came out. The lovely nurses said I was a naughty boy too, but they still smiled at me. My nice Doctor Steven said he would 'Chop my hands off' when I laughed at him. He was only joking. The nurses have put another toy in my hand, but they said it is only for 1 sleep, then they will put it back in my tummy!
Mummy left me on my own for a bit today and I got the gloves that everyone wears out of the box, so they are ready for them! Mummy said they dont need all of them out a once and that I was a beast! I tried to give her a pair to put on!
I have been grumpy all day, I miss my Daddy! and I dont like my toy being in my hand.

Thurday 25th October
I made red stuff come out of my hand today, I was playing with the toy and it came out! The toy makes lots of noise when I bash it against my cot! I went for a ride in a van with a nurse and Mummy today, I had a big sleep and now my toys are back in my tummy!
I got to stay up very late though, Mummy says I can't do it very often. It was all dark when we came back to my home.

Monday 15th October
Mummy said Daddy has gone back to work. But he will be here when I start my Chemo because I will be grumpy.
Still playing with nurses and with my food, good fun

Wednesday 17th October
Mummy had to go in van for some red stuff taken out. Granny visited me, we played hide and seek. granny hide behind the gate, I laughed and Granny liked it.

Thursday 18th October
Grandad came today. he is my Mummy's second helper, nurses had to show him how to wash, he's a bit old, washing must be hard to learn
He gave me my tea and I played around like I do with my nurses. I have to have a bath every day. Showed Grandad my toys on my tummy, Mummy has to put a glove over them when I have a bath

Friday 19th October
Nurses gave me breakfast today, she gave me a big bowl full. All my nurses and doctors will decide when I will start my chemo. Mummy said it will be 12 sleeps away before I am better, I have a chest infection thats why I have tubes going in me. Mummy said they are steroids, Mummy said Daddy needs some, they make you big and strong.
Daddy is looking after me on Saturday and Sunday so Mummy can have a rest. Nanna is coming on Saturday, hope Auntie Amy & Auntie Donna come too. Grandad, Granny and Auntie Katie are coming on Sunday. I will tell her any things Mummy has not told her.
